The interview provides information and personal observations about Greider's experiences doing high priority research projects impacting petroleum transfer for the war in North Africa; joining the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo.; working as a ski instructor and umpire for the "D" series; attacks at the Po River and on Mount Belvedere; work locating and removing mines; contacting polio at the end of the war, hospitalization, and other troops from the 10th Mountain Division stricken with the disease.

Bob Greider was born on July 18, 1918 and received a degree in Geological and Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. After joining the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. he was first assigned to Company C, but later served with Headquarters Company of the 126th Mountain Engineering Battalion.
